Quick Synopsis: A coming of age comic book about “too cool for school”, Enid and Becky. Two teenage best friends trying to cope with life and they fact that they may not be best friends for much longer.

I saw the movie when I was in high school. I loved it. I felt like it embodied exactly who I was. Reading it now as a 20-something, I felt a little different. I thought maybe the characters were a little too cynical and a little too, well…mean. But, after a little more thinking, i realized something: Daniel Clowes is a genius. He wrote teenagers wonderfully. That’s exactly what it was. I related to them because that’s exactly who I was in high school. Its perfect. One of the best graphic novels I’ve ever read. Definitely read this if you were anything other than a part of the “popular crowd” in high school. You’ll be able to fully relate to it.
